Dr Garrick Don is a Respiratory & Sleep Physician, who received undergraduate degrees in both Medical Science and Medicine from the University of Sydney, graduating with Honours in both degrees.

Dr Don undertook Advanced Physician Training at both Westmead and Royal Prince Alfred Hospitals, and was awarded his Fellowship in Respiratory & Sleep Medicine in 2011. In 2012, Dr Don undertook further research in investigating novel modalities of treatment for obstructive sleep apnoea, and developing further expertise in advanced bronchoscopic sampling techniques.

Dr Don holds the position of Staff Specialist at Royal North Shore Hospital, with additional admitting and consulting rights at North Shore Private Hospital and the Sydney Adventist Hospital. Dr Don is an integral member of the multidisciplinary Interstitial Lung Disease Clinic at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, and Lung Cancer MDT's at Royal North Shore and Sydney Adventist Hospitals.

Current clinical practice covers a wide range of disorders including Airways Disease (COPD, emphysema, asthma and bronchiectasis), Interstitial Lung Disease, Pulmonary Hypertension, Lung Cancer, Tuberculosis, Bronchoscopy and Sleep Medicine. Click here to discover more of the services offered.

Dr Don has conducted research into novel methods for the treatment for obstructive sleep apnoea, tuberculosis epidemiology, and applied respiratory physiology.


Dr Ben Harris

Dr Harris is a Respiratory Physician, who received undergraduate degrees in both Medical Science and Medicine from the University of New South Wales, graduating with Honours. He has also completed a PhD in the area of Respiratory Physiology and Imaging.

After completing his Respiratory Training at Royal North Shore Hospital (RNSH), Sydney, Dr Harris undertook a PhD at the Woolcock Institute of Medical Research. He investigated the objective analysis of medical imaging in various respiratory diseases including Lung Cancer. This resulted in multiple peer reviewed publications and a nomination for the European Association of Nuclear Medicine's Marie Curie Award.

After completing his PhD, Dr Harris was appointed to staff at RNSH, where he helped establish an endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS) and interventional pulmonology service, which has since become one of the busiest in NSW. Dr Harris has been appointed as the Lead Clinican in Lung Cancer, and currently chairs the Lung Cancer Multidisciplinary Meeting at Royal North Shore Hospital. He is the Head of Department in Respiratory and Sleep Medicine at Royal North Shore Hospital, and holds a conjoint appointment with The University of Sydney. Dr Harris's clinical interests are wide and varied, but he specialises in the diagnosis and management of lung cancer. As part of this he has extensive experience in the performance of interventional bronchoscopy including EBUS. His skillset includes the interpretation of complex imaging investigations (including PET,V/ Q, and CT scans), and the performance of interventional bronchoscopy procedures, and the interpretation of complex pulmonary function tests.

Greg King is a Research Leader of the Airway Physiology and Imaging Group of the Woolcock Institute of Medical Research, NH&MRC Practitioner Fellow, Staff Specialist of the Respiratory Medicine Department at Royal North Shore Hospital and Conjoint Associate Professor of the Sydney Medical School, Sydney University. His clinical and research interests are airways disease, particularly in asthma, COPD, bronchiolitis and obesity in the context of ventilation distribution, airway closure, airway hyperresponsiveness and remodeling.
