Lung Function Labratory
We are pleased to announce the establishment of a brand new state-of-the-art Lung Function Laboratory Service at North Shore Private Hospital to facilitate the investigation of your patients, using cutting edge technology. All lung function testing is bulk-billed, and presents no out-of-pocket charges for your patients.
General respiratory complaints and undifferentiated shortness of breath are a major issue in primary care and specialist practice. Trying to ascertain the cause of these can be a diagnostic dilemma. Complex lung function can greatly help in this process and provides considerably more information than spirometry alone. In addition, lung function provides an important way of monitoring general respiratory diseases, making an assessment in a pre-operative setting, or investigating the presence of abnormal office-based spirometry.
Lung function testing is a completely safe, painless and inexpensive way of assisting with diagnostic dilemmas and treatment monitoring. Testing procedures involve no radiation exposure or painful invasive measures, thus may be easily repeated for serial monitoring of your patients pulmonary condition.
We are now able to offer a direct referral system for lung function at this new Lung Function Laboratory. This will allow more rapid diagnosis and treatment for outpatients in the area, and inpatients at North Shore Private Hospital. It is conveniently co-located with North Shore Respiratory and Sleep (NSRS) which is happy to provide a consultation service for your patients if requested (valid medicare referral required).
