Lung Function Laboratory
Our state-of-the-art Lung Function Laboratory offers a wide range of diagnostic tests, including Complex Lung Function & Mannitol Challenge Testing, as well as more specialised tests including respiratory muscle strength measures and overnight oximetry. These are often critical in the diagnosis and management of airways and other lung diseases.
This on-site facility at North Shore Private functions 5 days a week, and allows timely investigation of our patients presenting with respiratory complaints. It also allows our physicians to accurately monitor and titrate treatment regimes. Tests are performed by our highly experienced laboratory scientists, and supervised by our qualified physicians with extensive experience in physiological testing.
Lung Function testing is available to all patients with a valid referral, and does not necessarily require specialist consultation. Referral can be provided by any medical practitioner, including General Practitioners.
Respiratory and Sleep Disorders
Our Physicians have extensive experience in the Diagnosis and Management of a wide range of Respiratory and Sleep Disorders.
This includes the investigation of non-specific respiratory symptoms, through to the diagnosis of management of common respiratory & sleep disorders such as Asthma, COPD, Pulmonary Embolism, Respiratory Infection and Obstructive Sleep Apnoea. In addition our Physicians have extensive experience in the management of sub-specialty areas such as Lung Cancer, Interstitial Lung Disease, Pulmonary Hypertension, Tuberculosis and Complex Sleep Disordered Breathing.
Our physicians also provide access to state of the art diagnostic sleep studies in a number of different locations throughout Sydney.
Access to our Respiratory and Sleep Consultation service is through an appointment with one of our Physicians. A valid medical referral is required for this consultation.
Interventional Services
Our Physicians have extensive experience in the provision of Interventional Bronchoscopy Services.
This includes access to standard bronchoscopy, high level interventional bronchoscopy (including Stent Insertion & Cryobiopsy), and Endobronchial Ultrasound Guided Lymph Node Biopsy (EBUS) for the investigation and management of Thoracic Lymphadenopathy and Lung Cancer.
Our Physicians are active participants in the Lung Cancer Multi-Disciplinary Team, and have extensive relationships with interventional radiologists, Cardiothoracic Surgeons, Medical and Radiation Oncologists through both the public and private system.
Access to Interventional Services is through an appointment with one of our Respiratory Physicians. A valid medical referral is required for this consultation.
